The Way of the Wai performance at Toi Rauwhārangi College of Creative Arts | Massey University
BRIEF:
The aim of this project is for each group to design an immersive experience in response to a verse of the waiata, sharing their learning about that verse along the way. These will be brought together as a series, with a response to the first and final verses created as a class.
OUTCOME:
Our Performance is based on the cycle, exchange, and regeneration of life, specifically in correlation to Moana. It takes the audience through a stimulating visual, auditory, and sensory experience, emphasizing this relationship between Whenua, Moana, and Rangi. Our experience references the three sites in our verse: Waihiere, Waitingi, and Te Aro, and their strong connection to wai.
